Hanging baskets bring
a splash of colour to porches and patios. Sometimes watering
them and removing dead flowers is awkward because they
are hung too high. What you need is a basket you can raise
and lower at will.
What You Will
Need
One galvanized line pulley
One galvanized 4 inch cleat hook
One galvanized 2 inch S-hook
One length of rope – ideally a 6mm diameter, man-made
fibre, braided for extra strength.
Hook type wall bracket and hanging basket
What to Do
A.
Decide where to hang the basket and put up the
wall bracket.
B.
Screw the cleat hook to the wall or post supporting
the bracket.
C.
Measure and cut the rope length you need.
D.
Suspend the pulley from the wall bracket.
E.
Tie the rope to an S-hook (alternatively use
a commercial thimble or rope clamp) and attach
it to the basket.
F.
Feed the rope over the pulley and haul up the
basket.
G.
Fasten the rope to the cleat hook.
